Summary:
Sometimes UX and design thinking start on the subway. After spotting a CAMH recruitment ad on the TTC, I turned an instinctive design critique into a one-day redesign sprint, reimagining the piece through improved hierarchy, typography, whitespace, imagery, and QR-enabled interaction.
Working from an inferred brief and brand constraints, I treated it as a rapid concept sprint exploring how graphic design principles and UX thinking can elevate experiences beyond digital products.

studies.
After resolving hierarchy and defining the role of each content block, the study became an exploration of how information density can strengthen, rather than compete with, visual impact. Much like thoughtful interior design can transform a small space, the exercise explored how strong foundations in typography and layout can make even high-volume content feel clear, engaging, and unexpectedly spacious—opening room to develop multiple design variations.
It also became an opportunity to explore bringing digital interface patterns into an offline touchpoint, borrowing from product design trends to create a piece that could live both as print communication and as a potential module within a broader digital platform.
applied design.
Design doesn’t stop at the layout. As part of the applied design exploration, the concepts were placed back into their real-world context to test presence, legibility, and impact at scale—bridging concept thinking with practical application.
campaign ideas.
The study naturally evolved into campaign thinking. Using what I learned—and leaning into CAMH’s established brand language—I developed No One Left Behind, an original campaign concept that revisits a familiar theme through a new lens. Built around "fractured" imagery, strong typographic statements, and a simple campaign identity, the series was designed to be direct, memorable, and impactful—each piece standing alone or working as part of a larger system.
Let’s make a difference!
